The Children's
Miracle Network Balloon Team has been around
for many years traveling from event to event all around the United
States and occasionally up into Canada.
The Team consists of:
The Balloon: (a 70 ft tall
flying billboard)
The Children's Miracle
Network Balloon, "Care Force 1", was manufactured in the spring of
2002 by Head Balloons of Helen, GA. Classified as an AX8-105 it holds a
volume of 105,000 cubic feet of air, stands over 70 ft. tall, 60 ft. wide
and can carry the pilot plus up to 3 passengers. It is powered by two
propane burners, each of which develops up to 15 million BTU's of
output and sports 2 logo's over 20 ft tall for Children's Miracle
Network.
The Chase Vehicle: Currently
the CMN Balloon Team operates a 1994 Ford van equipped with a
hydraulic lift mounted on the back to carry the basket. Inside it has
seating for 7 and room in the back for the balloon and misc. support
equipment. Outside it carry's the Children's Miracle Network logo's on
2 sides.
Cold Air Inflatable balloons:
They provide a static display that can be used indoors or outdoors and
can be set up in minutes. Just pick your spot, pull out the extension
cord, plug it in and tie it down. It's that simple. (we carry several
including a large 26' inflatable for 24hr exposure)
The Pilot and Crew Chief: Both
highly trained in balloon operations and well versed about the
Children’s Miracle Network.
Jon Thompson, a 28 year veteran
of ballooning brings the operations experience to the team.
Jon has spent over 20 years on the
road flying balloons as advertising for major companies such as Pepsi,
Kellogg's, General Motors, Ben & Jerry's etc. You can count on Jon to think outside
the box to get the most exposure for the Children's Miracle Network.
At the event: We will fly the
balloon daily in accordance with the schedule of events the Balloon
Festival or event organizer has put in place. During these flights we
can take up some of your staff, guests or VIP’s for Hot Air Balloon
rides. This is a great opportunity to develop awareness / relations for
the Children’s Miracle Network throughout your community.
